Croatia – Our Experience in Cavtat 🇭🇷

We recently returned from an amazing trip to Croatia and absolutely loved it, so I wanted to share our experience.

If you’re looking for somewhere beautiful, peaceful and full of character, I’d definitely recommend putting Cavtat on your list.

We stayed in Cavtat, which is only around 15 minutes from the airport. It’s a lovely, peaceful resort with incredibly welcoming locals and a fantastic location for exploring. It’s perfect for day trips to Dubrovnik and Montenegro, as well as exploring more of Croatia.

There’s a wonderful choice of bars and restaurants along the waterfront, where you can sit back, watch the world go by and enjoy some truly stunning sunsets. It has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere that makes it very easy to unwind.

Our hotel – Hotel Seventh

We stayed at Hotel Seventh, a small, adults-only boutique hotel about a 10-minute walk from the centre of Cavtat.

It’s run by a lovely mother-and-daughter team who clearly take enormous pride in their hotel. Everything was beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, and the personal touch really made our stay feel special.

Breakfast is available at the hotel, along with bar snacks and drinks throughout the day. One of our favourite things about the hotel was the view — every room has stunning views across the bay, so you can wake up to that beautiful Croatian scenery every morning.

The hotel is at the top of quite a steep hill, which is worth knowing if mobility is a consideration. However, there are plenty of alternatives if you don’t fancy the walk, including the local bus, taxis and Uber.

And here’s our little top tip… 🍦

On the way back to the hotel, stop for an ice cream at the House of Ice Cream. Enjoy it as you make your way up the hill and, honestly, you’ll barely notice the climb! ☺️

Would we recommend Cavtat?

Absolutely!

We loved the combination of beautiful scenery, wonderful restaurants and bars, friendly locals and the relaxed atmosphere. It also makes a great base if you want to explore Dubrovnik, Montenegro or more of Croatia during your stay.
